Be it the start of a new year or summer break its always good to roll up your sleeves to clean out the dust and clutter. Here are some ways to help you clean without unwanted fuss.
1. First declutter -
Get rid of stuff you no longer need, ie. anything that hasn’t been used for 6 months needs to be closely evaluated (as Marie Kondo say's). Give yourself time to plough through the rubble. Pre-loved items that are still in good condition, such as clothes, shoes, books and toys can go to a local charity, or pass on to extended family member, or sell online (and make some money)
2. Make a checklist -
Listing down the things you need to do and the places that you want to clean helps you keep track of your progress and not loose track. Make it as detailed as you can like wiping the windows, steaming the carpets, etc etc
3. Assemble your cleaning tools -
Before you start getting down to business gather all your cleaning equipment in advance so you can do a thorough job at once, and waste no time. You may need things like rubbish bags, microfibre cloths, a mop, a vacuum cleaner, broom, cleaning spray etc.
4. Now, get started -
Be it the rooms or within room, start from the top while making your way down to the stationary objects like carpets, fridge and couches. Don’t forget your mask ladies to prevent dust from getting into your nose / mouth.
PS: Get your kid’s / husbands be a part of this annual / bi-annual affair. It can prove to be a great bonding / family time together. Go down the memory lane when you find a long lost picture or your kids favourite toy or your love letters.
