5 Women Entrepreneurs Who Started Small and Built Their Way to Success

Whether it is entrepreneurship, leadership or simply being an employee, when we women step into the field, we make sure to give our 200% to the task at hand. Being an entrepreneur was earlier considered just a thing for men, but today, leading ladies from across the globe have proved that women are not meant to stand behind men, but lead the way no matter what field it is.

Women have not just become entrepreneurs, but they have successfully led businesses to triumph and grown them from 0 to 100 with their hard work and persistence.

Let us talk about some of the most influential women entrepreneurs and take inspiration from these ladies who have set an example for the women of today.

1. Oprah Winfrey

Beginning at a tender age and coming from a humble background did not hinder Winfrey’s growth. She began as a TV personality and later moved on to establish her company Oxygen Media. Winfrey is currently the CEO of another of her ventures: Oprah Winfrey Network and has a net worth of 2.6 billion dollars.

2. Kiran Mazumdar Shaw

The lady behind Biocon, Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, established the Indian biopharma company as a small-scale business from a rented shed. Biocon is today a global company and stands as the second Indian venture to reach $1 billion just on its first day of trading.

3. Rihanna

The singing sensation and an entrepreneur, Rihanna, founded her brand Fenty Beauty which offers high-end beauty and cosmetic products. Rihanna also runs a foundation called the Clara Lionel Foundation that raised over 20 million dollars as relief funds during the 2020 pandemic.

4. Sophia Amoruso

Sophia is among the most known entrepreneurial women with a net worth of $5 million. She has had her share of downfalls; however, despite all the challenges coming her way, Sophia paved her path and founded Girlboss after stepping down as the CEO of Nasty Gal. Her brand today works towards empowering and motivating women from all walks of life.

5. JK Rowling

We’re all a fan of the Harry Potter series. One of the bestselling authors, screenwriter, and film producer, JK Rowling, became an instant success with her first book Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. Rowling has not just authored books and produced films but she has also managed to turn her book into merchandise and even adventure parks for the Potterheads. She is among the well-known women entrepreneurs and a source of inspiration for women across the globe.

All of these women are true role models for all of us who want to achieve something in life, yet are hesitant due to the minor setbacks or obstacles along the way. Remember, they had their set of downfalls too, but they have risen despite that, and we can too. So ladies, never hold back from achieving your dreams and doing what your hearts want, because, in the end, it'll all be worth it!
