Meet Dr. Forum Gada, a Mumbai-based cosmetic dentist, as she shares her personal and professional journey.
Tell us a bit about yourself and your family?
Hello, I am Dr. Forum Gada, a cosmetic dentist from Mumbai.
My husband is involved in Corporate Gifting, and we have a 3-year-old daughter.
Have you had any formal training or family business?
Yes, I have completed my Bachelor's in Dental Surgery from Mumbai.
After that, I have undertaken several courses in cosmetic dentistry, root canals, fixed teeth treatments, and Digital Dentistry.
Tell us about your venture and what inspired you to take this challenge and get started?
I used to work with a senior doctor, but living in a joint family made it challenging to manage my work timings and workload, as I was working under another doctor.
Once I gained enough confidence, I decided to take the plunge and prove my ability to start and run a successful dental clinic in Mumbai.
What has been your proudest moment?
One of my favorite and proudest moments was when an army person visited me with two broken front teeth and a lot of pain.
I was able to help him alleviate the pain, design his smile, and provide him with natural-looking teeth and a smile in just one week.
What are some of the biggest challenges you faced as an entrepreneur?
Managing all the backend and frontend work, along with coordination with patients, staff, and suppliers, has been challenging.
But I believe that's the beauty of the job - you are never at rest.
What advice would you give to someone thinking of starting out?
If you feel you have the right knowledge and confidence, just go for it!
Talk to mentors and reach out to your seniors in the field.
Given a chance, would you alter any of your life decisions?
None!
God has magically put everything in place, even if I didn't feel so at a few moments in time.
Looking back, I feel the journey has been amazing and has shaped me into who I am today.
