Tell us a bit about yourself and your family?
Hello everyone, I am Dietician Reema V. Dhorajiwala. I have more than 10 years of work experience in healthcare industries. I provide online Diet consultation, personalized nutrition guidance for each and every client. I am the founder of THE DIET VALLEY.
The brand that offers a range of healthy snacking and munching options. My dedication to promoting wellness through balanced nutrition has made me a respected figure in the field.
I am a certified Diabetes educator and Food technologist.
This expertise allows me to not only recommend dietary solutions but also innovate and create specialized food products that cater to the specific dietary needs of my clients and diabetic patient.
I am born and brought up in Mumbai, hailing from a Brahmin Gujarati family, and have a loving husband who is an engineer with an MBA degree, along with a 7-year-old daughter, and loving and caring in-laws.
Have you had any formal training or family business?
Additional exposure to business tactics through my family’s business and receiving business training from Laja (women’s forum) adds another layer to my skill set.
This practical experience and formal training can certainly complement my work as a dietician, diabetes educator and food technologist, enabling me to approach my brand " THE DIET VALLEY" and my consulting services with a well-rounded perspective
Tell us about your venture and what inspired you to take this challenge, and get started?
I used to work as a healthcare practitioner, and I often had patients asking me about what to eat while they were on the go, traveling, or just too busy to cook.
It got me thinking about how challenging it can be to maintain a healthy diet in our fast-paced lives. That's when the idea for 'The Diet Valley' was born.
I decided to create a brand that would provide a solution to this common problem. 'The Diet Valley' is all about offering delicious and nutritious snacking and munching options.
One of the most significant challenges I encountered on my journey with 'The Diet Valley' was the need to bridge the gap in awareness. You see, many people were used to grabbing snacks from the market without thinking much about what they were consuming.
Convincing them that what I was providing was not just a snack but a healthy choice required a bit of a paradigm shift.
What has been your proudest moment?
My proudest moment is the recognition and repeat orders from notable individuals like a renowned singer and the founder of Laja.
These moments of appreciation not only validate the quality and taste of your products but also highlight the positive impact "The Diet Valley" is making in the industry.
What are some of the biggest challenges you faced as an entrepreneur?
Facing challenges like funding, packaging, and creating awareness is common for entrepreneurs, but overcoming them is crucial for the success of your business. Most common and biggest challenge is to handle social media.
What advice would you give to someone thinking of starting out?
Starting a business often begins with a passion or an idea.
While challenges like funding and materials may seem daunting at the outset, taking the initial steps and diving into your venture is a crucial part of the journey.
As you progress, you'll learn, adapt, and find solutions along the way. Your determination and perseverance will guide you through the challenges, just as you learn to swim by immersing yourself in the water.
Trust in your vision and your ability to navigate the entrepreneurial path.
Given a chance would you alter any of your life decisions?
I've always held the belief that everything in life happens for a reason. It's like life's way of sending us messages and lessons. The key, I think, is to pay attention to those messages and implement them in our future.
You see, whether it's a challenge we face or an opportunity that comes our way, there's always something to be learned. It's like life's way of nudging us in the right direction.
So, instead of dwelling on regrets or missed chances, I've found it much more empowering to take those lessons and apply them to my future.
It's about growing from every experience and using that growth to shape a better path ahead. That's what helps me keep moving forward with positivity and determination.
So, in a way, every twist and turn in life is a valuable teacher, guiding us to become the best version of ourselves.
