Durga Chincholi - Snuggle Diaries

Me as a person --- M a free spirit and go where the wind takes me kind of a person. I am an explorer with traveling and creativity as my mantra. I try not to confine or take the normal road.

About me – Mother to a newborn and Family photographer & Filmmaker by passion. Before that I served in the Indian army for 5 years and retired at the rank of Captain.

My Days in the Army – It had always been my dream to be in the uniform. My five years while serving were the most adventurous and fruitful tenure of my life and I cherish each day of these 5 years. I was commissioned into technical arm and served in Rajasthan and Manipur.

Unfortunately being an Army couple means separation was inevitable, and with that a baby on our minds we just didn’t want each other to miss the most beautiful phase of our life as parents. So I took the big decision of stepping back, giving us an opportunity to be together as a family for as many postings as possible.

How it started – During my pregnancy I got a call for being a maternity model, I had no plans of any photoshoot to be done till then. But for the thrill of it I went ahead with it and I was shot by an Australian photographer, Erin Elizebeth.

In the end I could not believe how much those beautiful photos meant to me. How they helped me during my postpartum depression. I had put on 30Kgs and was going through a lot of self imposed body shamming. But those images made me realise how important it is to respect once own body after pregnancy and how it's all worth it.

I had a complicated and rough pregnancy throughout but all I remember now is the glow I had and my  happy time waiting for my bundle of joy. Photographing my son during the initial months of motherhood helped me in further combating depression and now I have something to look back and thoroughly enjoy.

Soon I was approached by few mothers who loved the way I took photograph’s of my son and then my journey began with learning and developing my own style. And with time I felt the need to expand my creative canvas and picked up filming, since then there has been no looking back.

To further my knowledge and learn various tricks of the trade I went ahead and got myself certified by Aleksey Dovgulya, Varun Patel Photography, and Swathi Kode Photography.

My Style – Raw, Real and Authentic. Capturing meaningful images with a feel to them and telling family’s unique story. It is for parents who wish to capture their everyday special moments in the most natural way to be cherished for months / years to come.

Having a photoshoot with me is like having a fun play date with your family. During pregnancy to the early days of new-born baby, I understand A mother goes through a lot emotionally and physically. So to resolve the hassle of traveling to a studio when one is already sleep-deprived and tired (yet very happy :) ). We can shoot either at birthplace ( Hospital )  or in your home. or on location (just before sunset)

Ultimately, it is about you and your family.
