How Technology Brought Us Together !!!

I love Google translate!!!!

At onset I wish to say it's not a paid partnership or endorsement of any product but a simple story of how Google translate helped me make some amazing friends.

Well I moved to Singapore about 3 years back and I have not been able to pick any Mandarin nore do I see it happening any time soon (I am not proud of it, but it's true). Still I have to say I met some absolutely amazing girls of Chinese origin who either do not speak any English or very basic English. But even with this huge huge language barrier between us we found a special bond.

And it's all thanks to GOOGLE translate.

Sometimes people in our condo would wonder and ask  ‘ Do you even understand what she’s saying ’ and our simple answer would be to point to our phones. Technology rules.

Though our urge to play and learn tennis brought us together, it has grown so much more since then. We have had lunch sessions, shopping, coffee and full on husband bashing sessions. And never never missing a laugh.

I have to say initially it felt funny because every time we had to say anything to each other we had to pull out our phone and type it but then it became normal. None of us really minds taking that extra step.

I think the only reason I landed up writing about it today was to highlight all the good technology is doing for us. It's about embracing it and using it in a constructive way. It's on us if we want technology to rule us or serve us.
