How To Become a Freelancer - Top 3 Tips to Kickstart Your Freelancing Journey!

Statistics say that approximately 60,000 white collars are thinking of quitting their job and about 71% of the population is deciding to quit if forced to work from office! So many individuals have certainly decided to opt for a freelancing career for the rest of their lives. Well, why not? Who wouldn’t want a work-life balance and flexible hours of work?

Freelancing is one such career option where you are hired depending upon your outcomes and are paid accordingly. One of my favorite parts of freelancing is ‘free’. I love working with a team that is professionally driven without having to officially set my foot in the company!

Successful freelancers have often emphasized one thing - the outcome. You go for freelancing when you excel and provide one of the outcomes, i.e., writing, designing, or any other quality as desired by your company. So one must seek freelancing after acquiring sufficient knowledge in the realm that one has pursued and wants to progress in. If you’re into writing, you can begin with websites like Sororedit that allow you to blog for free. This will help build a portfolio.

Wondering how to become a freelancer?

Kickstarting your freelancing career demands a lot of planning and preparation. You must answer all the relevant questions that a freelancing career demands before you decide to become a mugwump.

Following freelancing tips can be considered by the ones pondering over where to start from!

 1. Ascertain Your Outcomes

Companies hire you as a freelancer based on the outcome you provide. As mentioned earlier, you must analyze your past work experience that is just not confined to your role and pick up a part that you were exceptional at. It can be anything that you were happy working at like designing, constructing blog articles, creating dashboards on MS-Excel, or more.

2. Grab Your Ideal Client

Ideal Clients can be vividly distanced from others on many terms. Ideal ones not only pay you but also make you a part of their team. They spine your ideas and include your vision while mapping the future progress of the company.

You can contact your ideal client through networking, freelancer communities, or Social platforms like LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.

3. Win Your Client

Clients need freelancers who deliver their problems successfully. Instead of focusing on your skill sets, focus on what your client seeks and deliver accordingly. Create a specific portfolio of the work similar to the one that your client asks you for. Demonstrate the projects that you have been a part of or worked in and show how that opportunity polished you to deliver the given task more precisely and efficiently.

Also, demand less while you have head started as clients want to invest small before they fully invest in a freelancer. Once trust is built and the client is confident of the risk-free collaboration, your responsibilities eventually grow.

Freelancers are preferred over agencies as they are dedicated and free from corporate bias. This makes the collaboration more personal and clients hunt those freelancers who possess the zeal and energy to contribute to their evolution. You can also read specific freelancing blogs to manage your finances as a freelancer and more.

So what are you waiting for? Your freelance client is just a few steps away. Go, grab your first deal!
