Kathryn Olvera - Freelance horror and true crime writer

1. Tell us a bit about your work and achievements?

I am a freelance blogger and ghostwriter who specializes in horror and historical pieces. I think

it’s so fun to collaborate with someone and create an incredible story that fits their vision. I’ve

been writing professionally for four years, and I’m lucky to be in a line of work that allows me to

stay home with my newborn.

2. What is the best thing about freelancing?

Freelancing keeps me on my toes. No workday is the same, and it never fails to get my creative

juices flowing. This line of work is as flexible as I make it and allows me to spend time with my

loved ones.

3. Why should someone hire you?

I’m collaborative by nature and go the extra mile to understand and execute a person’s vision. I

don’t accept work that doesn’t excite me, so each project has passion and hard work behind it.

4. What is the biggest challenge you face as a freelancer?

Freelancing is great in so many ways, but it isn’t short on challenges either. The workflow isn’t

always constant, and finding long-term clients can feel few and far between. To work as a

freelancer, you have to love it enough to put in the work it takes to be successful.
