I started working out back in 2015. 3 years into it, I found so
much love and benefits of exercising.
One day when I was in Thailand
gym, I saw a female freelance trainer and I thought that would be my
dream job. So when I came back to Singapore,
I quit my job as a graphic designer and became a freelance personal
trainer.
The best thing about being a freelance trainer is the flexibility I
get with the time and focus I want to give to my clients. Commercial
gym are limited to 1 hour per training. But I find 1 hour is too short
for them. If I am a client, I would
like my trainer to be there with me for my cardio session to push me so
I always cover cardio with my clients on top of their planned weight
trainings. Follow by stretches and sports massage if necessary.
I also
travel to my client’s convenient condo
gym. I understand that it can be time consuming to have to travel
to the gym especially if it’s quite a distance, but it really
saves up some time for busy individuals.
The biggest challenge I face as a freelancer would be trying to
get clients to change their eating habits. It’s easy to get people to
exercise, but without proper eating habits, it can really all go to a
waste.
