Tell us a bit about yourself and your family.
I come from a Gujarati family, my father was into business and even my brother. Married to Finance Professional. Have 3 years of Industry experience and have been specialising in Advisory for 20 years now.
Have you had any formal training or family business?
I completed my law and Company secretary Course and after my management training, not happy with job offers, I decided to start my own consultancy. Starting as a sole proprietor. I then joined Corporate as Legal Head of Samsonite to get industry experience. Later worked with Calvin Klein and FCUK as well. Then again started working on my Venture IBS.
Tell us about your venture and what inspired you to take this challenge, and get started.
Co-founded IBS, to take offerings at Pan India Level. India Business Solutions (IBS) is a new-generation, full-service boutique advisory organisation that specializes in legal, financial, and business advisory solutions. IBS works with organizations to realize their full business potential through a single service platform backed up by a multi-city presence.
IBS provides a dual edge to a business across its growth cycle on cost as well as creating a competitive edge as a strategic business partner in progress.
During my employment had to interact with many professionals for legal and taxation assignments pan India and realise the gap between cost-effective and quality services in metro cities and also the accessibility of these services to start-ups and Entrepreneurs even in large cities.
What has been your proudest moment?
Just starting out, acting as a counsel for an MNC Client, I had challenged the interpretation of the Company's senior Counsel of the Law Firm. I did not give in to his views and later after a couple of days, he realised that I was right and came back appreciating my point of view and accepted it.
What are some of the biggest challenges you faced as an entrepreneur?
Employee Attrition, we deal with human capital, and train employees but once trained, most move on to Industry jobs. Commitment from start-ups and also the payment issues.
What advice would you give to someone thinking of starting out?
Just test the waters, start small, instead of heavy investments, concentrate on earnings and proving your concept. Be committed to your own goals.
Given a chance would you alter any of your life decisions?
No
