Tell us a bit about yourself and your family?
I was born in 1981 in a small district of Sawai, Madhopur, Rajasthan, I was always considered a good student and a keen learner of different subjects including languages like French and Spanish. My long and interesting journey starts from being a regular homemaker to becoming a woman entrepreneur, who just wanted to make education interesting for the young minds at the same time utilize the educated human resources that are sitting at home waiting for a perfect work-from-home opportunity.
Have you had any formal training or family business?
I qualified NET (National eligibility test) and pursued B.Ed and passed out with flying colours.
Tell us about your venture and what inspired you to take this challenge, and get started?
In 2015, I was looking for a mathematics teacher for my daughter, but the nearest teacher's centre was 5 Km from my home, which added to my problems like transportation cost, pick-up and drop-off and safety issues. I realized not only me but many women are unable to work outside due to their social and family responsibility so a platform should be made for them where they can work from home.
Then, I envisioned a common platform on which tutors and students could interact together, thereby removing all kinds of hurdles faced by the students and the tutor. This idea gave birth to Eclassopedia.
What has been your proudest moment?
Within just 6 years of establishing Eclassopedia, we have reached a milestone of 5000+ students with 1000+ trained tutors providing services across 55+ countries. And we are not stopping here, more to come.
What are some of the biggest challenges you faced as an entrepreneur?
It was only in the beginning, there were too many mountains to cross, hurdles to jump. I was new in the business and was not aware of online education tools and latest technology, so had to undergo daily learning. Lack of high internet speed, lack of good faculty, and introducing a new thing in the market, does face issues with acceptance and trust.
What advice would you give to someone thinking of starting out, especially in a different country?
Do your research and know more about the requirements and expectations of the people. Work hard and trust always comes with consistent delivery.
Given a chance would you alter any of your life decisions?
No, I believe that everything happens for a reason and I would not want to change anything.
What's coming up with Eclassopedia?
We're on a mission to become No.1 e-learning portal in the world by leveraging technology to provide a world-class education to students irrespective of their location.
