India's got its greatest female battler in Mithali Raj, who reached milestones aplenty in her international career spanning for more than two decades. The woman securing maximum runs in the game being the only Indian captain - male or female - who led the side to two 50-over World Cup finals, the only major distinction that dictates the incumbent ODI captain is the tag of a World Cup winner. In pursuit of her dream, Raj bowed out of T20Is in September 2019, as India's highest run-scorer, having led the side in the format during the 2016 T20 World Cup at home.
Born in Jodhpur Rajasthan on December 3, 1982, was a tiny girl bestowed with talent and bigger dreams. Mithali continued to fuel her passion for cricket right at a very young age of 10 as she was assisted by her brother, who coached her. She started by playing domestic cricket for Railways before her remarkable display of sheer talent made her one of the best women cricketers to hail the game of cricket.
Mithali Raj holds the record for the highest total runs of anyone in women's international cricket and is the only cricketer to surpass the 6,000 run threshold in Women's One Day Internationals. To top it all off, Mithali is not just a batswoman but also a good bowler, specializing in Right-arm leg breaks.
An entity of potential and talent, Mithali is an inspiration for all sportswomen who are establishing a promising career for themselves by being a backbone of not only the family but the entire nation.
Our Salute to all ladies, who are striving to make ends meet, stepping out of their comfort to bring the much-needed change, by being a Hero… a warrior!
