Hi, I am Muskaan Singla, and this is my journey of building STUCRA. STUCRA is my passion generated start-up.
I have had my good share of ups and downs, each of which has been extremely imperative in building me into the person I am today. While I am happy to say I am currently following my passion, read along to see what my journey has been like!
I was born with a squint, which was corrected later at the age of 3. This was my first hardship, but it definitely was not the last. Life was smooth till Grade 10, but when my science teacher complained to my mother that I “ask too many questions” because I study science too deeply, it was shocking. This was the first time my faith in traditional classroom learning was shaken. Moving on, I did my graduation in BSC. Medical, and although I ended up with some backlogs, I powered through and cleared it in one attempt. I realised after my graduation that I do not want to make files and do projects, I want to imagine science, and continue in that field. However, it is that one thing to know you want to do, it is another to actually be able to do it!
I ended up wasting a year and I did not want to waste another year on entrance exams and so I took my father’s suggestion to join an MBA course. I did my MBA at a nearby city’s private college which was affordable and gave admission without CAT. I did not want to spend my father’s hard earned money on me, I wanted to be able to stand by myself.
In my college, there are no academics like the IIMs. For matching the academic level of IIM, I took help from open source resources. I watched top YouTube conversations of corporate leaders of the world, and I tried and solved as many case studies. I did not rely on traditional classroom learning.
In my second semester, I started exploring Linkedin for internships. When the third semester started, coronavirus hit the world and lockdown was announced in March. My father was forced to shut his business which he started in 2019. I took matters into my own hands and locked myself in my room for nine months to work on my skills. I ate very little during this period. I did develop a kind of loneliness, I already knew my resume was not the most competitive to get a job, so my priority was to fix that.
In that nine-month period, things changed. I was able to develop and recollect a kind of imaginative madness. My focus on online classes was not great. But in the grind of honing my skills and the entire process, I realised that most of the great companies start with imagination, which made me inquisitive. I started to research about imagination consulting, but there was no such concept in the whole world! It was exciting to work on something new, it was like a science discovery! I was able to interact with some top industry leaders for guidance wherever needed. From there, I decided to start STUCRA. STUCRA is an imaginative consulting company that provides consulting pivotally different than traditional consulting. Today’s startups need imagination consulting to find hidden opportunities in this space. Traditional management consulting fundamentals do not suit today’s fast growing startups.
With all of this happening, I skipped my placement sessions to get myself involved in building STUCRA. I started building my team who can do research, and are now actively doing research in various fields. My aim is to make my start-up India’s best consulting company which is able to serve true imaginative business science to its clients.
Every single day, I am working to ensure, I am optimising my start-ups because I love what I am doing. Do check us out, my team and I are working day and night to ensure we are creating changes in the way consulting is seen in today’s world!
