Saumya Vardhan - Shubh Puja

Hi, I am Saumya Vardhan, a Delhi girl turned into a global citizen. I have had a fortune to live and work in three countries – India, England and the US; serving my local community, building businesses, and never turning away from an interesting challenge. This really is my mantra to a fulfilling life.

My journey started when I graduated in the top of my class (Gold medalist and ranked 2nd in Delhi University amongst 60,0000 students in 80+ colleges) at Lady Shri Ram College for Women in India, one of the most well-respected and competitive education institutions in the country. I balanced my academic achievements with my commitment to give back to those around me. I taught several visually challenged children at Institution for visually challenged for over 2 years to help them learn mathematics and science to graduate their high school. This was the most humbling experience of my life.

My 13 years of career experience started in London, including 8+ years as a Management Consultant at well-known firms leading complex technical projects, M&A transactions and operational strategies for several Fortune 500 companies.

Following the deep loss of a good friend’s father, I discovered a gap in the accessibility of Indian spiritual ceremonies, center to cultural practice and traditions. I realized technology could bridge the gap and lighten the load for those grieving. So I went ahead and founded Shubhpuja (loosely translated to “Auspicious Worship”). The aim of Shubhpuja is to use technology to help translate and ease the understanding of meaning and tradition documented in sanskrit. To deliver the highest quality services to our customers, I studied scriptures and text in Sanskrit in order to learn practices such as Vedic Pujas, Vedic astrology and numerology.

In a record breaking time of 6 months, I pioneered, launched, and managed full-phase startup operations, including creating the technology platform, building a team with 500+ service professionals, and creating global partnerships to reach 15 countries. My start-up won ‘Best Service Disruptor of India’ in 2016.

My success with Shubhuja was steady, growing the company to 500+ service professionals, 15+ operations team and 400+ products, serving celebrity clients to provide authentic services from Indian priests to the global audience. My success story is covered in my Biography sold on Amazon by author Prachi Garg

Post marriage, I moved to Silicon Valley in 2018 and I got an opportunity to make an impact in the heart of tech capital of the world, just as I did in London and India. Realizing how challenging it can be for some professionals to break into the tech market without a technology background, I along with a friend found a Meetup group - ‘Crack into Tech in Silicon Valley’. Our focus was to network, and provide coaching and inspiration to job seekers. The group grew quickly to 400+ members and we helped numerous others to break into tech industry by boosting their self-confidence, reviewing resumes & many other ways to support them.

I also served the wider US community by launching LIVE Radio shows for 8 months across New York, New Jersey and SF Bay Area to educate the listeners on Indian spirituality & healing practices. Something I truly believe in.

Since 2021, I have been a part of Verizon Media, where I try to bring the best version of myself every day by applying practices and qualities gleaned throughout my experiences.
