Turn your junky snack time into a healthy and
guilt-free indulgence with this quick and easy Kiwifruit Salad. It's tasty,
healthy and qualifies to be called a snack.
This recipe will tick many if not all the boxes on
your list of what will do for a snack on a dull evening, or anytime.
Directions:
Pick green kiwis that are neither soft when you
press, nor those that don't give at all.
Without any rule, cut the kiwi into creative shapes. Remember this is a
simple recipe. To give it personality, you need to make it look good. Let your
personal touch to the shapes become the beauty spot of your bowl. Think stars
and moon, or diamonds, even squares. Have fun with the knife. Go slow though.
Next, bring out the cheese. Pick the one that agrees
most with your palate, and break it down to the smallest possible chunks. Not
much creativity here. So hurry with this step. You don't want to spend too much
time and energy.
Time for nuts. Use any unsalted nuts,
preferably skin-on, prep them into halves or smaller.
That's it. Mix them all and munch away.
Optional - Season only if you need to. You can
team it with pita chips if you must, or even some green tea.
Tip - If the kiwi on its own is too tangy for you,
add a sweet fruit of your choice - mango, raisins or grapes. Avoid the green
grapes and choose a more colourful second fruit. You don't want to duplicate
the green from the kiwi. The more colourful your salad, the healthier your
snack.
