But fret not, because we bring to you the most exciting and upcoming Netflix original movies and shows that are coming in 2022 for you to cozy up and watch this “stay at home” season! Keep reading as we tell you 6 anticipated movies and shows all available on Netflix -
1) Archive 81: After the raging success of all of the true-crime podcasts in the West and even in India, Netflix has come out with Archive 81 - perfect for podcast junkies and cult narrative enthusiasts. The movie is about an archivist who is assigned to recover a series of damaged tapes; however, he soon realizes that the recordings document a satanic cult. As she works to reveal the truth, he also needs to fight from being pulled in himself.
2) Stranger Things (S4): After 3 long years of waiting, Netflix is back with finally announcing the 4th season of one of the most loved series, Stranger Things. It continues right from where it left in Season 3 - the trailer shows Eleven adjusting to life in California, writing to Mike about their reunion in Spring and the usual flavor of flashes of gunshots, explosions, and creepy dolls. So it is safe to say 2022 is going to be exciting for all Stranger Things fans.
3) Bridgerton (S2): After the buzzing amount of love given to the first season, Bridgerton will continue to charm us as told by the series of novels by Julia Quin. There will be some new characters and a new protagonist alongside exits from some of the Season 1 characters. What’s even better, Netflix has already renewed this show for Season 3 and 4!
4) Munich: The Edge of War: This political movie is based on a novel of the same name by Robert Harris. This movie is set in 1938 when Hitler is preparing to invade Czechoslovakia, and the government of Neville Chamberlain is seeking a peaceful solution. It is then decided that a young British politician is sent on a mission to obtain a very confidential document from his old classmate, who is now a German diplomat. The fate of Europe now lies in this man’s hand.
5) Enola Holmes 2: The Case of Left-Handed Lady The second installment of Millie Bobby Brown’s character Enola Holmes - the teenage sister of detective Sherlock Holmes is all ready to come out in 2022. It is likely that the second movie will continue following the second book of the Enola Holmes series and Henry Cavill and Louis Partridge are set to return too! For all the young Holmes fans, this movie will be perfect for getting your thinking hats on!
6) The Witcher (S2&S3): One of my personal favorite shows, The Witcher is all set to return with Season 3 in late ’22 after just releasing in Dec’21. The show follows Gerald of Rivia, a mutated monster hunter, as he struggles to find a place in a world where people prove to be more wicked than beasts. Henry Cavill’s Witcher is easily one of the most interesting characters in the show, and I am greatly excited to see what happens going forward!
