Workout plan for Kids

These are crazy, overwhelming and uncertain times.. even for our children who see us constantly fretting, nervous and tense worried about our near and dear ones and humankind in general.

I have a 10 year old at home, full of energy and no park time, making her spend even more time on the screen and adding to her restlessness.

So I decided I had to make a simple but effective workout plan for her to channel all that energy. It starts with a basic warm up followed by a main workout which can easily be done at home. .

It can be done by anyone who is in good health for basic conditioning and strength using body weight

First the warm up routine:

1.Shoulder rotations

2. Alternating knee to chest

3. Alternating Single leg extensions

4. Lateral walks

5. Lateral alternating knee to elbow

She did approx. 10 - 15 reps on each side, 2 sets.

Main workout: Circuit of 5 exercises

1. Jumping jacks - 50

2. Incline push ups - 10 - 15

3. Sit ups - 15

4. Plank shoulder taps - 15 each side

5. Lateral lunge with leg raises - 15 each side

This circuit was repeated 3 times followed by a relaxed cool down stretching session for the back, lower body and upper body in that order.

Stay safe and strong everyone! Remember physical fitness has never been more important.
