Having a baby sounds extremely exciting, right? But, we also know that the first few months before the baby comes can be super hectic. Especially new parents might get overwhelmed and go overboard with everything. But one of the simplest ways is to be ready with just the right products and stock up on essentials.
To help you with that, we have curated a list of must-haves and good has. Feel free to print and use it as a checklist ;) or for baby listing just before your big baby shower:
TOP TIP: If this is your first baby, chances are many of your friends and family will be gifting you a surplus of baby essentials like clothes, toys,
changing tables, books, baby skincare, etc. So you can leave most of those items till later to see if loved ones have already gifted them to you. But we recommend these five products should be bought and chosen by the parents themselves to ensure they meet your specific requirements.
1. Diaper bag:
As you are welcoming a newborn baby, having a diaper or a nappy bag is a necessity. Choose a diaper bag that's big enough to carry enough diapers and has several pockets. You should also be able to toss in some of your baby's toys, clothes, food etc. etc. These come in super handy while going out on short trips.
2. Baby thermometer & SOS medicine:
A good baby thermometer is a must for newborn babies. Newborns are prone to a lot of infections, and hence it's important to keep the temperature in check. Regular thermometers can be a little uncomfortable and not accurate in the case of babies, and hence these special thermometers made for babies are essential. Similarly, it's important you stock up on basic SOS medicine for your baby, as visiting a doctor might not always be the most convenient alternative. Please make sure you consult your doctor while making a list of SOS medicines for your baby, as each baby is different with different needs.
3. Stroller:
A stroller is another must, so you can take the baby out for a walk or jog to the market or for a nice coffee break. Investing in a high-quality stroller will make sure that the baby is safe at some rough turns and twists. A stroller also makes sure that the baby isn't being fussy and cranky while you are out for a stroll, as he/she is comfortable. A colorful stroller with a few hanging toys will be even more preferable as the baby will have something to look at and also help develop motor skills. If you live in a hot country, you can also invest in a detachable fan, making sure the baby isn't too hot.
4. Super Susher :
Have you seen babies falling asleep to soft, calming humming sounds of their mother or caregivers? This is one of those baby products that do just that for you. It's a small product that makes soothing and rhythmic shushing noises to calm your baby down whenever you are not around. It is portable and perfect to use in a car seat, at home, in a stroller, or whenever you need to calm your baby.
5. A Safe Car Seat :
In today's time and age, it's a must-have, even if you are not the one in the driving seat. Baby is safest when in a car seat. You must look for car seat that's comfortable for your baby and is easy to install.
