With high prevalence among women, depression today is more likely to manifest among them at some point in their life as compared to men. According to the National Center for Health Statistics, Women (10.4%) were almost twice as likely as were men (5.5%) to have had depression, thus making the female sex more exposed to mental illness compared to their male counterparts.
Multifarious stressors both in personal and professional life are certain to inhibit and develop tremors and lack of self-worth, cascading to depression.
